The new combat skills and lord's army size degrade all companions to leadership bots, as they will never be as strong as a bretonian paladin or a comparable unit, and you are completely rely on them to reach a respectable army size. Then farm experience and renown by killing said patrols until you can become a vassal.īecome a vassal and realize, that the gameplay from this point on is a complete mess, since your army will barely exceed 50 units, so you are shackled to your marshall, unless you grind patrols for ages, as enemy lords' armies will easily exceed 200, sometimes even 400 units, with many of those units being high tier units + special units. Then hunt down patrols of a faction you won't join in this playthrough, since there are little to no bandits in most areas. Search for a quest to collect taxes, so you can afford a lance and a mount.
